Llanystumdwy
LLANYSTUMDWY, a little village about 2 miles W. of Criccieth, on the river Dwyfawr. Approaching the village from Criccieth, one can see, just opposite the Feathers Inn, two small cottages. The one to the west was the home of the late Earl Lloyd George during his boyhood. On being created Earl, he assumed the title of his native river, becoming Earl Lloyd George of Dwyfor. In the village there is an institute erected through the generosity of the nearby landowners, including the famous statesman. To the funds, he donated the money he had won in various damage actions against the Press.
