Trefriw

TREFRIW, a beautifully sited village on the west bank of the Conway some 5 miles N. or Bettws. The village makes a delightfully quiet holiday place, good for walking, and more restful pursuits. There is boating to be had on the exquisite Llyn Crafnant, some 2 miles by road, south of the village. There is a tea room by the lake. Llyn Geirionydd, farther to the south, is not so attractive, but is said to have been near the dwelling of Taliessin, most famous of all Welsh bards, to whose memory there is a memorial cross nearby. There is a very well developed local community website for Trefriw - www.trefriw.org
